4 Tips for the BEST Getting Ready Photos

TIMING

This is the portion of the day when I do detail photos of all your getting ready items, stationery (including vow books) and the finishing touches of you getting dressed. Honestly? The more time the better! Allowing space for things like “where’s my phone charger?” and “shoot I forgot deodorant” is important. If you’re having a first look with a parent or having your mom help you in your dress, they need to be ready so that they’re dressed in photos.

DETAILS

Please save a copy of your save the dates, invitation, vow books, or any other item you’d like photographed. If a piece has a front & back side, please include 2 copies.

Please also have your detail items collected and ready to be photographed in your getting ready area. This may include: rings [yours and your partner’s], shoes, dress, special hanger, gifts to/from your partner or wedding party, anything sentimental…

LIGHT & SPACE

The rooms with the best window light and space make the best getting-ready rooms. It can be tricky but keeping the room clean makes for clean photos.

LOGISTICS

Want photos of you both getting ready? It’s best to book rooms at the same hotel so that I can bounce back and forth. Or simply allow more time for me to stop at the separate locations or add a second photographer to your package.
